PMC Hinged Pendant

Tuesday Aug 1   9:00am-5pm    and Wednesday Aug 2    9:00am -3pmpm

12 hour class total - 7 hour   Tue Aug 1    and 5 hour   Wed Aug 2

This is a challenging piece using all PMC (with the exception of the hinge pin).

Even the bezel is PMC!

This is a simple basic design (not easy) to make you comfortable with silver clay construction.

We will design our piece around the stones I have to offer. There will be a selection to choose from.

The shrinkage will be factored into the design and we have the benefit of creating foolproof granulation
the PMC way!

After we complete our components, I'm going to fire the heck out of them for max strength.

If you are able to set yourself up early enough the first day you might have a little extra free time.

Second day will be shorter. We will add our keum boo gold by torch firing. Very antique-like appearance.
Patina our pieces, polish them up, set the stones and put the hinge together.

If you bring a silver chain, we can patina that as well to match your piece.

If you have any cabachons you would like to use first (you can take what you choose with you for later)
keep in mind the top one is approximately 14mm X 20mm
The bottom stone is approximately 30mm X 30mm or in that neighborhood. None of the stones are more than 1/4 inch high

I have no more geode slices but lots of fun alternatives.

I can't wait to see you get started! It's so exciting to create one of these.

Final piece is usually around 2 1/2 to 3 inches long by 1 1/4 to 1 /3/4 inches wide

PMC Granulated Bark Pendant

FriFriday Aug 4    6:30-9:30pm

3 hour class Friday evening

I am so in love with this pendant! The rustic natural charm of bark offers texture simply not available anywhere else.

Again we can use the sneaky fun type of granulation that is unique to metal clay. This is foolproof!

Who can hate that?

You will learn how to make a fantastic mold from silicone that you can use over and over again.

Bring a piece of bark or cactus or any wonderful texture you adore (or use mine) to create the base for this one of a kind work of art jewelry that is uniquely your own.

Don't forget to bring an 18 or 20 inch silver chain or leather cord so you can wear it right away. The chain in the photograph is a popcorn chain. Let me know if you need one, I do have a few I can offer for sale. Mine are only 16 to 18 inches long. I may have a 20 inch left by then, not certain.

Cost would depend on price of silver.

I will have some PMC tools available for use if you don't have metal clay utensils.

If you are interested in purchasing a toolkit please let me know two weeks in advance.

The kit is on my Tools page for reference

Final piece will be approximately 2 inches long by 1/2 to 1 inch wide. It will only be about a 1/4 inch high so keep that in mind when choosing your organic source.
